Native Plant Sale
ENCF Native Plant Sale a Success!
The ENCF hosted its second annual native plant sale on May 13, 2023. The sale took place outside the John Janzen Nature Centre on a beautiful sunny Saturday.
There were a range of plants available including a variety of shrubs, wildflowers, and a grass species. The larger potted plants were very popular and sold out within an hour. Kinnikinnick was a favourite, and something we hope to order more of next year given that it was so highly requested!
Species with edible fruits, such as saskatoon and gooseberry, were also favourites. Wildlflowers – including wild bergamot, holly hock, dotted blazing star, wild strawberry, and a variety of asters – were also highly popular.
Growing native plants that are hardy to our climate is a great way to support native pollinators and create beautiful natural spaces at home. Thank you to everyone who came out to purchase plants and support the ENCF. Buying native plants from the ENCF helps to support local conservation and environmental education initiatives.
We hope to see you again next year!
