The Edmonton Nature Centres Foundation (ENCF) is offering a School Subsidy Program in partnership with the John Janzen Nature Centre (JJNC)! The subsidy program is intended to reduce barriers for classrooms to participate in the educational programs at the JJNC. The subsidy program is designed to subsidize the costs (up to $400, intended to cover the full cost including transportation) associated with a classroom field trip to participate in a school program at the JJNC for the months of October, November, January, or February. Thank you for your interest in the Edmonton Nature Centres Foundation (ENCF) School Subsidy Program in partnership with the John Janzen Nature Centre (JJNC). This subsidy program is designed to subsidize the costs (up to $400, intended to cover the full cost including transportation) associated with a school program at the JJNC for the months of October, November, January, or February.

Subsidy applications can be submitted prior to booking a school program at the JJNC. If the subsidy application is approved, the ENCF will not release the subsidy cheque until the applicant school sends the ENCF the school program booking confirmation number with the JJNC. Applicants have 30 days after subsidy approval to send the ENCF the confirmation number.

Qualifications:

  • If approved for the subsidy, applicants must send the ENCF their school program booking confirmation number with the JJNC within 30 days of subsidy approval.
  • Request for a program booking with the JJNC must be made minimum 6 weeks in advance of the program and confirmed with a confirmation number
  • Subsidy application must be submitted prior to the date of your booked program
  • One subsidy application can be submitted per class with a confirmed program at the JJNC; however, it may be possible to coordinate multiple classes from the same grade and same school to share transportation costs
  • After the school program, provide the ENCF with a class photo or class drawing inspired by their trip to the JJNC
